Improve SEO of an Old Post by changing Title and Adding more Content
Note: Do this only for your old posts with no visits at all. As I observed some of my old posts took months to rank high in search results. Specially when editing post title, edit only those posts that are  few months old and didn't reached at least 100 views. But for adding content you can always add more content to any post anytime.

From the title Improve SEO of an Old Post by changing Title and Adding more Content

You might be asking. Can you really? Definitely. If you have an old post that has no hits at all, you might want to change the post title a bit and add many more lines to the content and you will surely notice a rank improvement in search engine results.

How to pick a good title for your blog post

The title of the blog post is also in the list of most important things to consider in SEO of your blog. And to do this, the keyword of your post should be in the first 2 or three words of your post title for example: "The top bloggers of year 2012" instead of arranging it like this it is better to make it "2012 top bloggers", see the big difference?. This trick alone can put your post in top results of a certain keyword.

If you are thinking changing the post title have negative effects, no it will not unless your post already is ranking high in SEO you might not want to edit it, this is only for your posts that has no visits at all from search engines.

Changing the post title will not change the link of the post or what we also call permalink so there's no bad effects like page not found etc.

Adding contents

By this i don't mean just adding any word or phrases you want. It should make the post more complete. Because you are making it have more keywords. The longer your post is the higher the chances of being ranked higher in search results.
